TotalAV and Total Drive Early Black Friday 2026: $19 for the First Year, What You Actually Get
Total Security has relabelled its checkout as an Early Black Friday offer: TotalAV Plus with three device licences for $19, or Total Drive's 500 GB backup with TotalAV and Total Adblock licences for the same $19. We read both checkout pages, list what is included, explain the $99 renewal and the monthly downsell, and say which one to take.

Table of contents
Total Security, the UK publisher behind TotalAV and Total Drive, has switched its checkout pages to an "Early Black Friday" offer: $19 for the first year of either product, down from the $99 regular rate, with the usual bundle of extras thrown in. The headline price is the same one the company runs most of the year, so this is less a Black Friday discount than a Black Friday label. What has changed is what sits inside the $19, and that is worth reading before you click. This article lists exactly what each checkout shows, where the renewal catch is, and who should take which one.
TotalAV Plus: $19 first year, three devices, Mac cleaner included
The TotalAV checkout currently sells TotalAV Plus at $19 for the first year (regular rate $99, so the page shows an 80 percent saving). Included at that price:
- Award-winning antivirus for one computer, Windows or Mac, with real-time protection, ransomware shielding and the WebShield browser filter we tested in our TotalAV review for beginners.
- Two additional device licences at no extra cost, meant for a phone and a tablet. In practice that is three devices on one subscription.
- Mac Cleaner and optimisation tools, listed as "included free". On Windows the equivalent is the built-in junk cleaner and startup manager.
The checkout quotes the price in your local currency; from Europe it reads €19 and renews at €99. Payment is by card or PayPal and the 30-day money-back guarantee applies to the annual plan.
Total Drive: 500 GB for $19, with TotalAV and Total Adblock licences
The Total Drive checkout is the more interesting of the two. For the same $19 first year you get:
- 500 GB of encrypted cloud backup for 12 months. Total Security does not print the capacity on its marketing pages, so the checkout is the only place it is stated. Right now it says 500 GB; earlier in 2026 the same offer carried 10 TB, so confirm the figure on the page you are shown.
- A TotalAV licence, included free, for the computer you back up from.
- A Total Adblock licence, included free. We reviewed the ad blocker separately in our Total Adblock review; it is a reasonable blocker whose main flaw is its own renewal price, which does not apply when it arrives as a bundled extra.
If you were going to buy TotalAV anyway and also want an off-site copy of your photos, this bundle costs the same $19 as the antivirus alone. Our sister site Techivilla has the full Total Drive review, including what "end-to-end encrypted" means in Total Drive's own terms.

The two catches, in plain English
Renewal. Both subscriptions auto-renew after 12 months at the regular rate of $99 a year. The checkout says so in the consent line above the payment button, and the first renewal email arrives shortly before the charge. The fix is simple: buy, then open the account dashboard and switch auto-renew off the same day. You keep the full year, and in month eleven you decide whether $99 is worth it. If you want the cheapest possible antivirus and will forget to do this, Microsoft Defender is free and good enough for one carefully used PC.
The monthly "deal" on the way out. If you try to leave the checkout, Total Security shows a second offer: switch to a monthly plan for $1.99 the first month, then $11 a month at the standard rate. Over a year that is around $123, more than the annual plan's renewal. Decline it. The annual plan at $19 is the better offer by a wide margin.
Both products carry the publisher's standard refund rule: 30 days on annual plans, 14 days on monthly and add-on services, and you have to fully terminate the subscription in your account, not just turn off renewal, for the refund to go through.
Which one to pick
| You want | Take | Pay now | Renews at |
|---|---|---|---|
| Antivirus for a PC or Mac plus phone and tablet | TotalAV Plus | $19 | $99/yr |
| Antivirus plus an encrypted backup of photos and documents | Total Drive bundle | $19 | $99/yr |
| Just an ad blocker | Neither; see the Total Adblock review | ||
| A free baseline and no renewals to manage | Microsoft Defender and good habits | $0 |
If you only need protection, TotalAV Plus is the straightforward choice and the three-device allowance covers a typical household's main machine, phone and tablet. If you also want a second copy of irreplaceable files, the Total Drive bundle gives you the antivirus licence anyway, so it is the better $19. Do not buy both; the Total Drive bundle already contains TotalAV.
How long the offer lasts
Total Security has not published an end date. The "Early Black Friday" label suggests the page will carry a Black Friday or Cyber Monday banner through late November, and the company has run $19 first-year pricing for most of 2026 under different names. Treat the deal as available now rather than as something to wait for; the price is unlikely to drop below $19, and the capacity on Total Drive is the variable that has moved against buyers during the year.
FAQ
Is $19 really the price, or is there a hidden fee?
$19 is the full first-year charge, plus local VAT where applicable. There is no setup fee. The only further charge is the $99 renewal after 12 months, which you can switch off.
Does the $19 TotalAV price include the VPN?
No. TotalAV Plus at this price does not include Total VPN, the password vault or the identity add-ons. Those are upsold inside the app. We cover the VPN separately on VPN Ratings.
Can I use Total Drive without installing TotalAV?
Yes. The TotalAV and Total Adblock licences are included but not mandatory; you can back up with the Total Drive app alone.
What happens to my backup if I do not renew Total Drive?
Access to the stored files ends with the subscription. Download anything you need before the year is up, or keep a second copy locally. Treat any cloud backup as one copy, not the only one.
Prices and inclusions were read from the TotalAV and Total Drive checkout pages on 4 November 2026 and are quoted in US dollars; the checkout shows the equivalent in your local currency.
