Scoutafi Review: A Home Network Scanner, Antivirus, VPN and Scam Checker From a New US Brand

Scoutafi starts with your router rather than your PC: a scanner that lists every device on your Wi-Fi and flags outdated firmware, plus an antivirus, a VPN and a web-based scam checker. What each piece does, what it costs in the US, and which parts are proven.

Most home security products start with the computer. Scoutafi starts with the router. Its headline tool is a Network Scanner that lists every device on your home Wi-Fi, checks the firmware of the ones it recognizes against a vulnerability database, and tells you which ones need attention. Around that it sells three more familiar pieces: an antivirus, a VPN and a web-based Scam Checker. This review explains what each one does, what it costs in the US, and who the bundle makes sense for.

Who is behind Scoutafi?

Scoutafi is a brand of Label Brands Inc., a Sheridan, Wyoming company that runs a portfolio of consumer products. The Android antivirus app is published under a different developer name, Nexora Digital Ltd, which is worth knowing if you search the Play Store. Support runs on US Eastern business hours by phone and email. Payment is by card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), and the published prices are in US dollars; the affiliate offer we link to is for US customers.

This is a young product. We found no independent lab tests of the antivirus engine and no third-party review of the Scam Checker's accuracy, and the Android app has only a handful of downloads. Everything below is based on the company's own documentation and the product pages, and we say so where a claim is unverified.

The four products

Network Scanner

Installed once on a PC or Mac, the scanner maps your network and reports each device's manufacturer, firmware status and known vulnerabilities, with a health score, step-by-step fixes and alerts when a new device joins. Scoutafi says it runs "100+ scan checks" and has no device limit. This is the genuinely different part of the product. Most people have never seen a list of what is actually connected to their router, and the first scan typically surfaces an old smart plug, a forgotten camera or a TV that has not updated in years. If you only read one of our guides first, make it securing your home Wi-Fi router in 15 minutes, because the scanner finds problems that guide fixes.

Antivirus

A conventional real-time antivirus for Windows, Mac, iOS and Android: on-access scanning, a web shield, email attachment scanning, scheduled deep scans and daily definition updates, on up to 5 devices. The feature list is standard. What is missing is any AV-Test or AV-Comparatives result, so we cannot tell you how its detection compares with TotalAV, Bitdefender or Microsoft Defender. For beginners that uncertainty matters, and it is the reason we would not make Scoutafi's antivirus your only protection on a Windows PC today.

VPN

AES-256 encryption, a kill switch, a stated no-logs policy and servers in 50 to 100+ locations depending on which Scoutafi page you read, on up to 5 devices. There is no independent audit of the logging claim. As a public Wi-Fi tool it does the job; as a privacy product it is unproven. Our guide to using public Wi-Fi safely covers what a VPN does and does not solve.

Scam Checker

A web app, no install needed, where you paste a URL, an SMS or a screenshot and get a verdict. It allows unlimited checks from any device. This is the tool we expect most families to actually use, because text-message scams are now the most common way people lose money. Treat the verdict as a second opinion, not an oracle, and keep the habits from how to check whether an email, text or link is a scam.

Pricing

Scoutafi sells each product separately or in bundles, monthly or yearly. US prices at the time of writing:

Product Monthly Yearly
Network Scanner $12 $99.99 first year, then $139.99
Antivirus $14 $99.99 (renews at the same price)
VPN $14 $120
Scam Checker $14 $120
Antivirus + VPN $24.95 $197
Complete Protection (AV + VPN + Scam Checker) $39.99 $249
Total Protection (all four + priority support) $50 not offered yearly

There is also a one-off hardware scanner for $89.99 that plugs into the router and monitors continuously with no subscription.

The refund terms are better than the small print suggests. The FAQ promises a 30-day money-back guarantee on all plans: email support within 30 days for a full refund. The terms page separately describes a 7-day window for monthly plans, so for safety treat 7 days as the hard limit on monthly billing and 30 days on yearly. Cancelling is done in the account dashboard and stops the plan at the end of the current period.

How it compares

At $99.99 a year for the antivirus alone, Scoutafi is priced like an established brand without the lab record of one. TotalAV's entry plan costs $19 in the first year and carries current AV-Test and AV-Comparatives certificates; Bitdefender and Norton cost more and have decades of test results. On price per feature, Scoutafi only wins if you value the Network Scanner, which the big suites either lack or bury as a minor module.

That makes the sensible way to buy it fairly clear: the Network Scanner on its own, or the hardware scanner if you want no subscription at all, paired with whichever certified antivirus you already trust.

Who it is for

  • Households with a lot of smart devices and nobody who knows what is on the network. The scanner's plain-language report is the product's best feature.
  • Families who get a lot of scam texts and want a shared, no-install checker.
  • Not anyone who needs proof of antivirus quality, or anyone outside the US, where support hours and pricing are not aimed at you.

Verdict

Scoutafi's Network Scanner is a useful, unusual tool and the Scam Checker is a sensible everyday aid. The antivirus and VPN are plausible but unproven, and at full price they are expensive for an unproven brand. Buy the scanner, use the 30-day guarantee to decide, and keep a tested antivirus on your PCs until Scoutafi publishes lab results.
